Intercasino is currently running a
blackjack promotion:
Blackjack match deposit bonus code – BJ300
You are required to wager an amount equal to 10 times your deposit and bonus credit in wagering requirements - i.e. 10 x (deposit + bonus) before you may withdraw your initial deposit, the bonus credit and any winnings.
Only blackjack games count towards the wagering requirement of this bonus.
The following blackjack games DO NOT count towards the wagering requirement of this bonus: Single Deck Blackjack, Double Deck Blackjack and Blackjack Perfect Pairs.
Please note that ALL offers are subject to the General Terms and Conditions but additional conditions also apply.
Three blackjack games are excluded, but the others qualify, and are subject to a ten times deposit plus bonus wagering requirement. Clear enough, surely?
Not at all. The
general terms state:
8. Game wagering contributions on all other games will be weighted according to the following game percentages:
Blackjack: 5%
So, putting aside the three game exclusions, all the other games are weighted at just five percent, giving an overall wagering requirement of not ten times, but two hundred times.
This was clarified by the casino after a player requested clarification:
Please be advised that the wagering requirements for the bonus is 10 x deposit + bonus. However since blackjack counts 5% towards the wagering requirements you will have to wager the amount of the bonus received 400 times.
In what circumstances is wagering, to quote the casino service rep, "10 x deposit + bonus"? There are none, as the only eligible games carry a total wagering of two hundred times - no games in this promotion are subject to just ten times as claimed in the terms. So why state the misleading conditions?
Most players will see "blackjack bonus" and "wagering is 10 X deposit + bonus", and naturally and logically conclude that, for this bonus, eligible blackjack games require only ten times wagering. They will not see the need to email for clarification of what seems obvious, nor think to check the general terms page where the 5% blackjack weighting is listed.
Since the terms could not be clearer...
You are required to wager an amount equal to 10 times your deposit and bonus credit in wagering requirements...only blackjack games count towards the wagering requirement of this bonus.
...this is not a mistake. It's designed to draw customers in with apparently unambiguous and attractive terms, then entrap them with the additional terms that noone would ever think to look for, given the ostensible clarity and completeness of the offer.
I've seen other such deposit traps over the years. I never expected to see one from Intercasino.
